At Electric Ireland, we have customers with different wants and needs. That’s why we know a one size fits all approach doesn’t cut it when it comes to paying your bills.

When you’re with Electric Ireland, you’re part of something bigger. That’s why we offer payment flexibility like no other.

We value your time. Whether you’re a stay-at-home parent who uses a constant stream of energy, or a shift worker who uses more electricity at off-peak times, or perhaps you’re an EV driver who wants to charge your car night, whatever your lifestyle, at Electric Ireland we’ve got a number of flexible payment methods to suit you.

See our flexible payment options below and choose the one that suits your unique lifestyle best. Because we're brighter together.

Smarter Pay As You Go (SPAYG)

Yes, you can say goodbye to bills and instead pay as you go when you’re an Electric Ireland customer.

With PAYG, you get a clever In Home Monitor which provides you with instant information on how much electricity you are using. PAYG allows you to pay for electricity as you are using it.

  • No more bills (you can prepay your electricity and gas)

  •  Your In Home Monitor allows you to check your balance in real time

  • We have many ways for you to top up and no need to input codes into your meter

  • The best part is, we’ll install your SPAYG meter  for free and give you €60 sign-up credit!

Equaliser

If you’re looking for a hassle-free billing option, you’ll be glad to hear that Electric Ireland customers also have the option to spread their annual bill payments equally over 11 or 12 months using Equaliser.

This means you’ll pay the exact same amount for your electricity or gas bill by moving from a bi-monthly bill to a fixed monthly direct debit payment option. By choosing 11 months, you can avail of a free payment holiday for one month of your choice and spread that payment over the remaining 11 months. Equaliser gives you fixed energy payments – this  means no more bill surprise.

We'll calculate your total electricity costs or total gas costs for the year based on our information on your previous electricity and/or gas usage.

We'll also include a 10% contingency to allow for any electricity and/or gas price changes, changes in weather or other factors. Your monthly payment is this total divided by 12.

If you sign up to Equaliser, you’ll still receive your electricity and/or gas bill every two months, which will show your payments and the balance remaining on your bill.

Submit your meter reading

It’s been a year like no other, and here at Electric Ireland we know that many of our customers have experienced bill surprise due to their meters not being read in the usual way. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, our usual reps were prevented from paying you a friendly visit and reading your meter for you.

The good news, every day we’re getting closer and closer to getting our Electric Ireland reps back out on the streets and giving you a friendly knock on your door.

The better news is, that in the meantime, you can submit your own meter reading for free with just a few clicks.
