Electric Ireland, proud sponsor of the Electric Ireland GAA Minor Championships, has released the ninth episode of its podcast ‘GAA Minor Moments’, featuring former Dublin dual player, Conal Keaney, as he looks back on an incredible playing career.

Well-known for his skill in both codes, Conal reminisces on his time growing up in Dublin as a dual player, playing both hurling and football for his club, Ballyboden, and his county. He recalls the influence playing Dublin Colleges had on his development as a player as well as the importance of executing the basic skills to perfection in order to succeed.

Ahead of this week’s Electric Ireland GAA Minor Football Championship final between Mayo and Galway, Conal also speaks about playing football at all grades for Dublin and discusses how he and the team would prepare in the run up to a final.  When asked about a memorable Minor moment, Conal recalls not one but a collection of highlights including watching the Dublin Minors play in Croke Park and making the Dublin panel before going on to make his first start for the team.

Electric Ireland’s ‘GAA Minor Moments’ Podcast will air every Tuesday as well-known Irish stars share memories from their early sporting careers, reflecting on the defining moments from playing Minor and how it shaped them, both on and off the pitch.

The podcast will run for ten weeks over the course of the Electric Ireland GAA Minor Championship, featuring a new guest each week from a star-studded line up. Guests have included Danny O’Reilly, Eamon O’Shea and Brian Whelahan, as they reflected on their time spent playing Minor and shed light on some great personal stories. The final episode of ‘GAA Minor Moments’ featuring Sean McGrath will air next week.
