Episode four of Electric Ireland’s ‘GAA Minor Moments’ podcast with former Clare hurler, Jamesie O’Connor.

Electric Ireland, proud sponsor of the Electric Ireland GAA Minor Championships, has released the fourth episode of its new podcast ‘GAA Minor Moments’, featuring former Clare hurler and four-time All-Star, Jamesie O’Connor, as he takes a look back at his unique hurling career. 

In this week’s episode, Jamesie speaks about his hurling apprenticeship in St. Flannan's, getting a taste for the big days and winning a Munster Minor Hurling Championship with Clare in 1989. We learn how he aimed to improve as a player, a journey that ultimately culminated in All-Ireland glory with his club and county.  

Jamesie, who would go on to have success as a senior player with Clare, also shares some insight into his relationship with his former coaches, Eamonn O’Shea and Ger Loughnane. Describing how much respect he had for Eamonn and Ger, Jamesie details the invaluable lessons which he learned from two very different hurling innovators.   

Electric Ireland’s ‘GAA Minor Moments’ Podcast will air every Tuesday as well-known Irish stars share memories from their early sporting careers, reflecting on the defining moments from playing Minor and how it shaped them, both on and off the pitch. 

The podcast will run for ten weeks over the course of the Electric Ireland GAA Minor Championship, featuring a new guest each week from a star-studded line up. This will include Mick Galwey, Brian Whelahan, Conal Keaney and many more as they reflect on their time spent playing Minor and shed light on some great personal stories.
