Episode eight of Electric Ireland’s ‘GAA Minor Moments’ Podcast with former Tipperary hurler, Eamon O’Shea
Electric Ireland, proud sponsor of the Electric Ireland GAA Minor Championships, has released the eighth episode of its new podcast ‘GAA Minor Moments’, featuring former Tipperary hurler, Eamon O’Shea, as he details his incredible journey from Minor hurling to an All-Ireland win.
In this week’s episode, Eamon looks back on his time as a Tipperary Minor hurler in 1976 and how many of his own coaches became a significant influence on his path to becoming one of the game’s great coaching revolutionaries of the 21st century.
In a wide-ranging discussion, we gain an insight into Eamon’s unique player-centred approach to coaching which encourages self-expression and challenges the individual to strive for better while emphasising the importance of creativity as a collective. As Eamon describes the major influences of him, he also charts the progression of hurling, how it has changed and what the future may hold.
Electric Ireland’s ‘GAA Minor Moments’ Podcast will air every Tuesday as well-known Irish stars share memories from their early sporting careers, reflecting on the defining moments from playing Minor and how it shaped them, both on and off the pitch.
The podcast will run for ten weeks over the course of the Electric Ireland GAA Minor Championship, featuring a new guest each week from a star-studded line up. This will include Sean McGrath, Conal Keaney and many more as they reflect on their time spent playing Minor and shed light on some great personal stories.
