Following its recent announcement of a 6% electricity price reduction, Electric Ireland is today announcing more good news for its 1.2 million residential customers. From today, all Electric Ireland customers can avail of additional savings of up to 8.5% year after year.
The savings are being offered to customers who pay their bills by Direct Debit and have online billing. Electricity customers can get an annual saving of 5.5%. Customers who take both electricity and gas from Electric Ireland can get a saving of 8.5% across both.
These savings are available to all existing Electric Ireland customers and will apply year after year, with no contracts required, no expiry dates and no exit fees. Customers can avail of this offer from today by contacting Electric Ireland at 1800 30 50 90 or at www.electricireland.ie. The savings will be applied immediately.
Electric Ireland has reduced its electricity prices for all customers three times in less than two years. Those reductions, together with the additional savings now on offer, will give a total saving of €184 per year for the average electricity customer compared to 2013 prices. This saving rises to €280 per year for customers with both electricity and gas from Electric Ireland.
Commenting, Paul Stapleton, General Manager Electric Ireland said: “Following our 6% price reduction announcement last month, this is more great news for Electric Ireland customers. We want our customers to get the best value without having to shop around. Rather than focus on new customers with short term discounts which has been a feature of the market to date, we want to reward our loyal customers and make sure all our customers can benefit from the best long-term value available from the market.”
