Billing & Payments Help With My Bills

What is the “correction of previous read” line item on the back of my bill?

A correction of previous readings takes place when previously billed estimated readings are adjusted by an actual reading received by Electric Ireland from ESB Networks. This accurate reading generates a new calculation of the units involved in the previously estimated accounts. The monetary amount displayed on the current bill breakdown relates specifically to the difference between newly adjusted estimated read included in “correction of previous reads“ & the recent accurate read supplied by ESB Networks.

Am I being charged twice for the same period of time & usage?

This adjustment has no effect on readings outside the date range on the correction of previous reads line item. Meter readings have to appear in chronological order which is why previous estimates have been adjusted to fall in line. Any payments made against previous estimates are taken into account in your current accurate bill.
