Before you turn on the gas supply you should ensure that all your gas appliance taps and pilot lights are turned off. To turn on the gas supply, return the safety ‘shut off’ valve to the 'on' position by turning the handle until it is in line with the pipe. The isolation valve is often located in the meter box.
