Darkness Into Light 2024

In 2009, in the Phoenix Park in Dublin, 400 people set off on the inaugural Darkness Into Light 5km walk to raise funds for Pieta. From small beginnings, the movement has continued to grow, and now participation averages 120,000 people each year for Darkness Into Light in Ireland, with 200 official walks taking place across the world in 15 countries and 5 continents.

Electric Ireland is proud to support Pieta and Darkness Into Light for the twelfth year in a row and has made a commitment to work alongside Pieta to deliver this phenomenal event for another three years until and including 2025. Everyone is welcome to join Electric Ireland and Pieta for the most important sunrise of the year, Darkness Into Light, on Saturday, May 11th. Take part in any way you can, whether that's walking, running, hiking, biking, or joining us at one of our organised gatherings.

Sign up at www.darknessintolight.ie and help raise funds for Pieta’s life-saving services.

Erica Cody

“I am proud to support and take part in Darkness Into Light 2024. This annual event is vital for fostering awareness, raising crucial funds and for bringing communities together across the globe in the spirit of solidarity, comfort and compassion. Join me and many others as we walk together towards the most important sunrise of the year.’’

Eoin Doyle

“I am delighted to be an ambassador for Darkness Into Light this year. By participating in the event, supporters can make a real and tangible difference as the €26 sign-up fee alone can fund two calls to Pieta's 24/7 helpline, offering vital support and guidance to individuals in crisis.’’

Bláthnaid Treacy

“I am beyond proud to work with Pieta and Electric Ireland to support Darkness Into Light this year. Having participated with friends and family for as long as I can remember, it truly is the most important sunrise of the year and I look forward to taking part again this year.”
