Electricity Billing Guide for Business Customers
Single Site and Quarter Hourly (QH)?
If your site is Quarter Hourly (QH) your energy consumption is measured from your meter every 15 minutes. Bills are based off actual meter reads and are issued on a month-by-month basis.
Single Site and Non-Quarter Hourly (NQH)?
Option 1: Standard Billing
If your site has a Non-Quarter Hourly (NQH) meter, ESB Networks aim to obtain 6 meter reads a year, 4 estimated and 2 actual. Bills are generally issued bi-monthly as a result once we receive a read (estimated or actual) from ESB Networks.
Option 2: Flexible Billing
Non-Quarter Hourly (NQH) customers whose account number begins with a 2 can be billed monthly based on an estimate meter reading. Any meter reads obtained won’t appear on your bill but will be used to validate estimates. To ensure estimates are more accurate, customers should aim to provide two meter reads per year.
Option 3: Partial Billing
Non Quarter Hourly (NQH) customers whose account number begins with a 9 can be set up to bill every month based on a partial bill every second month. The partial bill is calculated as 50% of the monetary value of the previous bill.
Multiple Sites and want to have just one bill?
Collective billing allows customers to group individual sites together so that they receive one bill instead of a bill per site.
Collective Billing
For customers whose account number begins with a 2, two types of collective billing are available, standard and flexible. The main difference between the two options is the billing frequency and whether it is based on actual or estimated reads.
