  • We’ll need your meter reading(s) from the day of your move to ensure your final bill is accurate.
  • If you have an unmetered electricity supply, such as public lighting or an electric fence, please call us on 1800 372 787 (Mon to Fri 09.00 to 17.30) instead of using this form.

You will need the following to hand to complete your move in/out.

  • Gas and/or electricity account number
  • Gas and/or electricity meter reading of outgoing occupier
  • Gas and/or electricity meter reading of new occupier
  • Electricity MPRN and/or Gas GPRN number of the new premises

 

Frequently Asked Questions

If you are leaving your premises and will not be opening a new Electric Ireland account please complete a  closing account form. You will need the following information to complete the form:

  • Name on account (Electricity and / or Gas) 
  • Account number(s) 
  • Date the account closes 
  • Contact telephone number 
  • Email address 
  • Final meter reading(s) 
  • Forwarding address for bill 

Below, you’ll find information to guide you through the connection process. This will depend on the status of the gas or electricity supply at your new address:


If the gas or electricity supply is connected 

If you are moving into new premises you can simply complete our move in online form.

If you have an unmetered electricity supply, such as public lighting or an electric fence, then please call us at 1800 372 787 (Mon to Fri 09.00 to 17.30) to open your new account. 


If the gas or electricity supply is disconnected 

Then you should contact Electric Ireland by phone at 1800 372 787 (Mon to Fri 09.00 to 17.30) or  email with the following information:

  • Your name
  • Your address 
  • Contact telephone number
  • GPRN for gas*
  • MPRN for electricity**
  • Payment details
  • Company Registration Office number (If applicable)

Notes:

  • *Please call Gas Networks Ireland at 1800 464 464 if you have a gas supply but not your GPRN
  • ** Please call ESB Networks at 1800 372 757 if you don’t have your MPRN
  • If the electricity supply is disconnected for six months or more you must provide ESB Networks with an ETCI Completion Certificate from your electrical contractor.

 

New connection - Gas 

Contact Gas Networks Ireland  at 1800 464 464 to apply for a new gas connection.

Then you should contact Electric Ireland by phone at 1800 372 787 (Mon to Fri 09.00 to 17.30) or  email with the following information:

  • Your name
  • Your address 
  • Contact telephone number
  • GPRN 
  • Payment details
  • Company Registration Office number (If applicable)

We will then register you as a customer of Electric Ireland for gas.

New connection - Electricity

Contact ESB Networks at 1800 372 757 to apply for a new electricity connection. 

Then you should contact Electric Ireland by phone at 1800 372 787 (Mon to Fri 09.00 to 17.30) or  email with the following information:

  • Your name
  • Your address 
  • Contact telephone number
  • MPRN 
  • Payment details
  • Company Registration Office number (If applicable)

You will then be registered as a customer of Electric Ireland for electricity.

If you are leaving your existing premises and will no longer be responsible for the electricity or gas charges, and moving into a new premises you can simply complete our  Move out / Move in online form.

If you have an unmetered electricity supply such as public lighting or an  electric fence then please call us on 1800 372 787 (Mon to Fri 09.00 to 17.30) to complete your transfer-of-account. 

 

If the gas or electricity supply is disconnected in the new premises 

Then you should contact Electric Ireland by phone at 1800 372 787 (Mon to Fri 09.00 to 17.30) or  email with the following information:

  • Your name
  • Your address 
  • Contact telephone number
  • GPRN for gas*
  • MPRN for electricity**
  • Payment details
  • Company Registration Office number (If applicable)

  • *Please call Gas Networks Ireland at 1800 464 464 if you have a gas supply but you do not have your GPRN
  • ** Please call ESB Networks at 1800 372 757 if you don't have your MPRN
