The ACA scheme offers an attractive incentive. It allows companies to write off 100% of the purchase value of qualifying energy efficient equipment against their profit in the year of purchase.

Northern Ireland
In Northern Ireland, grants are available to help your business cut its costs and save energy by investing in energy efficient and renewable technology. The Carbon Trust is the main grant provider in the UK. It provides specialist support to help business and the public sector cut carbon emissions, save energy and commercialise low carbon technologies. For small and medium size businesses in Northern Ireland, 0% loans of £3,000 - £400,000 are available from the Carbon Trust. These are designed help organisations finance and invest in energy saving projects. The loans are government-funded and unsecured. For more information go to www.carbontrust.com
Enhanced Capital Allowances
Enhanced Capital Allowances (ECAs) enable businesses to claim 100% first-year capital allowances on their spending on qualifying plant and machinery. The scheme provides a tax incentive to businesses that invest in equipment that meets published energy-saving criteria.
